Abstract :
An implementation of a nonuniform sampling strategy based on the estimation of the local bandwidth of a signal has been proposed. It is demonstrated that a significant data reduction for storage and transmission is possible by this strategy for some typical nonstationary signals like the EGG, EEG, and the `burst´ type marine signals
