Abstract :
Digital image processing is interdisciplinary course, which requires a strong background in mathematics. To help students change from passive learning to active learning, inspiring interest of studying digital image processing, the teaching method of applying interesting examples is discussed. Taking chapter of image transform as an example, application of Karhunen-Loeve transform in data compression, for FY-2C geostationary meteorological satellites, is presented in this paper. This approach can encourage class participation and enhance the quality of students´ research projects.
