Abstract :
The performance of several commonly used vehicle-mounted, both whip and loop antennas is analysed in this paper. From these results it is apparent that the loop is the preferable configuration and an optimised, loaded loop antenna is presented. The loading is necessary to control the current distribution around the loop and a procedure for determining the value of that capactive loading. Therefore, conclusion obtained that the loop antenna exhibited high efficiency in the condition mentioned above.
