Abstract :
Based on the research of Arbitrarily Wide-Angle Wave Equation (AWWEs), we present a new migration method implemented using finite difference scheme in frequency-space domain. The result of depth migration imaging test illustrates the advantages of the new method. In contrast with conventional wide-angle wave equations, the second order AWWEs can be adapted to steep dips up to 85° by optimization of the parameters. Wave field extrapolation method is realized on finite difference method, so the proposed method can adapt to vary in velocity. Compared with the realization in the time-space domain, it has advantage in computational efficiency and easy imaging.
