Abstract :
For subsurface seismic exploration, one of the major problems in is the uncertainty in geologic interpretation because of the complexity of subsurface geology and the limited dimension of the data available. Case studies from worldwide exploration projects indicate that an three-dimensional seismic volume visualization contributes to resolving the problem by mining and exposing critical geologic information from within seismic data volumes. In this paper, 3D seismic volume visualization with Ray Casting Algorithm is mainly studied and realized. Software has been applied to real data. This technology can be applied to an ever wider range of complex geophysical and geologic problems.
