Abstract
A review is presented of the impact of the Display Screen Equipment Regulations in the context of legal actions and how such legal actions might influence the implementation of the regulations. The DSE regulations have unified the ground for assessment and given clear expectations for action. Failure to follow the regulations means almost certain defeat in a civil case unless the defence can demonstrate that no injury exists or that it arose from some other cause
