Abstract
It is shown that nonlinear control theory can be used to good effect for temperature control in a gas fired furnace. Although the study presented is single-input-single-output, the theoretical approach is multivariable. Work is currently in progress to test the controller/observer pair on a multi-burner muffle furnace within the process industry
