Abstract
This paper presents a method integrating application of geographical information system (GIS) tool and spatial decision support system intended for use by affordable housing authority administrators and planners selecting the location for new affordable housing building in China city. Spatial site selection process in China is always completed by local housing authority planner, which decide the middle and low income families where located. For housing authority planners did not consider the eligible buyers´ spatial preferences and limited ability to visualize the land cost and impacts factors for affordable housing spatial site selection. Thus, this paper establishes a frame work of data sources associated with practical situation and affordable housing policy for SDSS. Multiplying analyze by attribute layers of GIS integrated effect factors that affecting affordable housing spatial decision. Digital elevation model (DEM) used as well to provide a platform which considering for site selection in micro area. Market situation, land cost and geography factors are considered 3-dimensional (3D) map can provide good visual effect. A framework of interactive process which the public can participate in is presented as a component of SDSS. Human process as another component is also discussed.
