Abstract :
The method and techniques of partial discharge measurements for solid insulating composite tubes were studied and some tubes were used to measure PD quantities. It was found that PD measurement was a sensitive and reliable diagnostic means for detecting internal insulation defects and evaluating property charges of solid insulating composite materials for high voltage usage. It was recommended that PD measurements be included in the rest standards of solid insulating composites for HV live working and power equipment. Some technical considerations were also proposed for the future applications
