  • Abstract
Idiopathic scoliosis is a spinal deformity effecting adolescents. A posture monitoring system used in a therapeutic treatment as an alternative to bracing is discussed. The fully portable posture monitoring system monitors the patients posture and provides corrective feedback. The system uses electromagnetic and accelerometer technology for position and angle measurements. Distributed processors are used to allow parallel execution of data collection. Improvements in the speed, accuracy, and resolution have been made over the prior system
