Abstract
We first propose two power controlled MAC protocols which constrain the transmission power of the current packet depending on the transmission and received powers of the preceding packet. We determine the optimal level of over-compensation for different operating scenarios. Then we propose a fully adaptive power control (APC) protocol which is shown to yield significant improvement in system performance.
