Abstract
Due to rise in awareness about the environmental protection and economical considerations there is increased interest in integrating wind into existing power systems. It has, therefore, become necessary to include wind energy conversion systems in the ELD problem. The study presented in this paper introduces a craziness based shuffled frog leaping optimization algorithm to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) problem for different types of cost functions considering wind power as a negative load. The results are compared with well-established optimization techniques by considering thirteen and forty unit test systems.
