Abstract
The reverse-link channel capacity of a two-dimensional RAKE (2D-RAKE) reception scheme under a multipath fading environment is evaluated by computer simulation by applying a wideband propagation channel model. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is also discussed. The channel capacity is improved in proportion to the number of antenna elements, and the degradation of the achievable channel capacity is dramatically reduced by increasing the interval between antenna elements, especially when the delay spread of a propagation channel is small compared with the chip time of the spread signal
