Abstract
In this paper the effects of diversity reception on the statistics of dropped packets sequences in packet mobile radio networks are investigated. In a log-normal shadowing environment, it is seen that the presence of a diversity link determines a remarkable reduction of the outage occurrence, while the outage duration does not significantly decrease. Finally, an appreciable performance improvement in terms of dropped packets sequences is observed
