Abstract :
For the two-layer “air-dielectric liquid” system with a unipolar injection charge on the free surface, it is impossible to record the electric potential distribution, electric fields and free charge density because of the lack of boundary conditions for the surface charge. In this paper, we develop equations for the one-layer system with continuously changing physical properties by representing the dielectric constant and the mobility of both media as a continuous function. It has been found that the surface charge is not produced by the finite charge mobility, and the charge volumetric density jump takes place whose size is determined by the ratio of charge mobility in both media. The difference between the ohmic and injection mechanisms of conductivity is discussed
