Abstract
A compact PIFLA ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with a tunable band-notched response is proposed in this paper. Tuning of the rejected frequency is realized by loading an embedded resonant slot with lumped capacitors (equivalent to varactor operation) with capacitance range from 0.75pF to 2.75pF. Antenna prototype was constructed and the measured results show that the proposed antenna can provide an operating bandwidth from 2.8 to 11 GHz, except for the rejected bands. The proposed antenna, only occupies a small and compact size of 15mm × 30mm × 5mm. The Simulation analyses are also carried out to validate the experimental results and were found in good agreement.
