Abstract
The pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) method we developed to measure the space charge distribution (1985) has been widely used for 10 years. This paper proposes a new measurement system that uses a modified electrode arrangement, an improved piezoelectric sensor, and a suitable amplifier. The resolution is about ten times that of the conventional system, and because the recent progress of digitizing oscilloscope technology allows rapid averaging calculations of the detected signals, the measuring period is reduced significantly. This paper shows the arrangement of the new measuring system in detail
