Abstract :
A cellular wireless communication system consisting of multiple transmitters and multiple receivers is studied in terms of system capacity. Assuming that the transmitters in the multi-cell system are connected to a centralized controller which has access to channel state information, the transmissions from the multiple transmitters can be cooperatively optimized such that the sum capacity is maximized. Analytical results on channel capacity are obtained under a per-antenna power constraint using optimization theory for different system configurations and levels of network/terminal complexities.
