Abstract
The demand for utilizing the spectrum efficiently caused great interest. In this paper, an improved dynamic channel allocation method is proposed, which combines ANN allocation method with heuristic adjustment. The method divides all cells into three types: “logically identical” cells, geographically local cells, and not-local cells. Based on this division, The ANN allocation method is used when a new call demand arrives, while heuristic adjustment is performed when a call is released. Computer simulations show that this method is of remarkable improvement in performance over LODA and BDCL which are proposed by Zhang and Yum (1989)
