Abstract :
One of the major power quality concerns is harmonic distortion that is caused by the non-linearity of customer loads. Hence, harmonic studies have become an important part in power system modeling, simulation and analysis. This paper presents an application of an Open-source Distribution System Simulator (OpenDSS) for harmonic analysis in time series. Two test case studies, with and without harmonic loads are modeled and studied to show the usefulness of the time-series simulation. IEEE test feeder is used as the test system for both case studies. Time series simulation is performed to observe the impact of harmonics by using the measured harmonic data obtained from the commercial buildings.
