Abstract
In this paper the possibility to have a reliable simultaneous estimation of both the rotor speed and rotor time constant in a field oriented controlled (FOC) induction motor drive is discussed. The considered solution uses a Luenberger state observer for flux estimation and suitable adaptation mechanisms for speed and rotor time constant estimation. The performance of such a drive system are analyzed both by simulation and experimental results
