Abstract :
This paper presents a study on pico hydro-power generations installed at the Maewong National Park Sub Station, Maerewa, Nakhonsawan Province, Thailand. The study was carried out by the School of Renewable Energy Technology, Naresuan University. The test results show that the two demonstration systems have generated the power as designed. The two systems are a standalone unit and a hybrid system comprises of a PV panel. They were installed to demonstrate how they can be used for practical applications. The standalone unit generates about 60W or 1.44 kWh per day. The efficiency of generator is 18.76% and it generates electricity at 215 V, 55 Hz. The output of hybrid system is 1.21 kWh per day and the efficiency of hydro charge controller is about 57.00 % with a PV productivity of 0.49 kWh/day. The efficiency of PV charge controller is 95.73 % and the efficiency of Inverter is 65.00 %
