Abstract
A new type direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) which has high flexibility was investigated. A new current collecting method has been proposed, which involves sewing wire to the electrode, and this was examined in an attempt to decrease the contact resistance. The difference in output was examined by dividing the electrode into nine. The cell output characteristics were studied using different fuel concentration and quantity. The contact resistance was significantly reduced using the wire sewing current collection method. The difference in output is hardly caused in the cell side. When the quantity of fuel is very low, there is insufficient power generation. When the fuel concentration was too high, the amount of power generation fell.
