Abstract :
The effect of cavity backing on the input impedance of a triangular patch antenna is theoretically studied. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time that we have investigated the triangular cavity backing triangular patch antenna. In this paper we have proposed a very simple CAD model based on cavity model analysis to compute the input impedance of an equilateral triangular patch antenna (ETPA) enclosed in to a triangular metallic cavity operated in S and C band. The computed values for wide range of cavity and antenna parameters are presented. We have also used a simulator to validate the present model.
