Abstract :
Renewable energy resources such as wind, wave, solar, micro hydro, tidal and biomass among others are becoming more important because of increasingly restricted environmental constraints. This paper develops an algorithm for probabilistic reliability and production cost credit evaluation of a power system added wind turbine(WTG) and solar cell generators (SCG) with multi-state considering CO2 emission. While a two-state model is well suited for modeling conventional generators, a multi-state model is needed for modeling wind turbine and solar cell generators due to the random variation of wind speed and solar radiation. This paper presents a method suited for the purpose of reliability and production cost evaluation study on a power system with wind turbine or solar cell generators. Test results indicate the viability of the method.
