Title :
Robust Phase-Only Nulling for Adaptive and Non-Adaptive Phased Arrays
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
This paper describes a new unified approach for phase-only pattern nulling for adaptive and non-adaptive phased array antennas. The method eliminates trapping issues associated with other methods, while matching the loss performance of published optimal phase-only methods and producing solutions for problems for which other methods fail. The approach does not place any restrictions on array geometry or element parameters providing solutions for sparse arrays, conformal arrays and arrays with element failures. Discrete nulls and arbitrarily shaped sector nulls can be formed. The method is very fast providing solutions for arrays of up to 25,000 elements.
