Abstract
The determination of the current distribution on the dipole of microstrip antennas and the coupling between elements of arrays are especially important for the analysis of microstrip antennas and arrays. Unfortunately, the calculation which involves the evaluation of Sommerfeld integrals is tedious and time-consuming because of the existence of the surface wave poles and the oscillation of the high order Bessel function. A new method is proposed in this paper to calculate the current distribution by using Chebyshev decomposition to deal with the Sommerfeld Integrals. The calculation results show that the present method greatly improved the computing efficiency while retaining high accuracy.
