Abstract :
The MODIS 1 km spectral BRDF/albedo algorithm is ready for at-launch production. Output consists of two products providing BRDF/albedo parameters for a semiempirical and an empirical BRDF model and two derived utility products, ready-to-use albedo and BRDF-corrected nadir reflectance. Theoretical accuracy studies indicate robust performance. Prototyping using AVHRR observations shows the potential of this new type of data
