  • Abstract
Environmental monitoring and urban sensing are seen as the most important areas of research. Urban sensing through integration of technologies is now been seen in the likes of vehicle tracking. This interesting field is still in its early stages. Due to the environmental pollution caused by the vehicles most of the major cities of the world have developed serious health issues. The need to precisely measure the harmful amounts of pollutants present in the vehicle´s exhausts is becoming the high priority for the governments. In this paper, we presents EnvironSense a novel technique based on RFID magnetic induction to measure the air contaminations through environmental sensors installed near the vehicle´s exhaust and convey them back to the driver through feedback. The government authorities are also notified through the gantries installed on checkpoints. This will enable detection and prevention of environmental pollution.
