  • Abstract
    It is an essential factor in the field of automated color image analysis to have an accurate method for image color quality evaluation. Based on the CIELAB color system, S-CIELAB has added a spatial filter process of simulating human visual system and accorded well with human visual system. This study focused on the application of SCIELAB in image color quality evaluation, with an induction of human visual perception property, and provided the whole calculating process and the method of determining parameters. After testing on LIVE database, the correlation between subjective evaluation and color difference based on SCIELAB were analyzed. The results showed that the color image evaluation induced by S-CIELAB is better correlated to the perceptual data.
