Abstract :
This paper has developed a smart, economic torch movement controller for flame cutting machines by using the highly modular STD (Standard) bus industrial computer. The controller possesses the smartness of manual cutting and the steadiness and precision of CNC (computer numerical control) cutting. So it enables the operator to response quickly to all the unexpected situations and to shorten the auxiliary time as much as possible during cutting. This controller is especially suitable for use in most Chinese small state-run works or rural and town enterprises
