Abstract :
Due to a large interest in multimedia and collaborative applications, efficient group communication protocol need to be developed for new networking environments, e.g., an environment that supports mobile nodes. The most fundamental challenge in providing multicast communication to mobile nodes is the location management problem. In this paper, we propose a new protocol that constructs a scalable architecture for multicast communication, which is based on an efficient location management protocol for mobile nodes. We investigate the performance of this protocol through simulation and present the initial results
