In this study, two-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) was applied to evaluate operational efficiency of 54 international tourist hotels in Taiwan in 2008. Hotel industry´s operating activities are divided into two sub-processes, including profitability and marketability for analyzing the efficiency differences. Results from the efficiency value and management matrix provide information as a reference for national authorities and investor. Moreover, policy-makers also utilize these results to management strategy.
