Abstract :
The method of evaluating of the hydrodynamic contrast caused by internal waves on the ocean surface using the SAR image of the ocean is worked out. The method based on the theory of SAR ocean wave imaging has been tested on the ERS-1 SAR data obtained in the course of Joint US/Russia Internal Wave Remote Sensing Experiment (July 1992) near the Atlantic coast of USA
