Abstract :
A fully automated computerized setup suitable for electrochemical measurements has been developed. The experimental system includes a three-electrode electrochemical cell, a potentiostat, a lock-in amplifier and a GPIB controller. The system is capable of taking fully automated measurements of both capacitance and interfacial tension of the dropping Hg electrode - solution interface in student and research laboratories by means of LabVIEW software. There is a detailed description of the instrumentation involved, their interfaces and digital-process utilities and their operation. The experimental results are mainly focused on the estimation of the accuracy and reproducibility of the acquired data for the evaluation of the proposed automated measurements and acquisition system.
