Abstract
Optical remote sensing images often suffer from the presence of cloud covers, especially over the tropical regions. However, if multiple images acquired at different time over a given region are available, then it may be possible to generate a reasonably cloud-free composite scene by mosaicking the cloud-free areas in the set of images. The authors describe a technique of generating such “cloud-free” scenes for images acquired by the SPOT satellites
