Abstract
The most current approaches for parameter estimation of FM signals are based on the use of the Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD), followed by the Hough transform (HT) to get higher performance. However, they suffer drawbacks such as: heavy computation load, and a complicated WVD space due to cross products and difficulty in searching multiple local maxima in HT space. In this paper an adaptive algorithm based on the modified WVD is presented for an accurate estimation of the Doppler parameters, useful for both moving target focusing and evaluation of the velocity components
