Abstract
We present measurements of the spatial radio channel and discuss relevant metrics that determine how smart antenna systems will perform in real world radio channels. Models that take into account environmental factors and antenna height in estimating angle spread and other spatial characteristics are being investigated, and results from these measurements will be used to develop experimentally grounded models for the time dynamic spatial radio channel.
