Abstract
A new nonlinear field weakening controller has been proposed for speed tracking control of a separately excited DC motor drive. Input output feedback linearization technique is used to handle the nonlinearities in the field weakening operation. The motor is controlled by actuating two inputs of armature voltage and field voltage to achieve high dynamic control performance. Simulation results using the proposed nonlinear controller and traditional PI controller are presented
