Title :
The MAX 7000 architecture: building on a winning formula
Author_Institution :
Altera Corp., San Jose, CA, USA
Abstract :
Altera´s MAX 7000 architecture provides a high performance, high programmable logic solution, maintaining the easy to use features that were pioneered by the MAX 5000 architecture. The level of performance that MAX 7000 provides is important, since high density programmable-logic devices will continue to be driven by advancements in digital system technologies. As technology advances, the amount of information and data to be processed increases, and as a result, this data must be processed at a faster and faster rate to satisfy the ultimate system´s goal. Therefore, the performance and logic capability of a particular PLD´s architecture become the key factors in its value to designers of high technology products
