Abstract :
Industrialization is one of the major causes leading to the deterioration of water environment in Guangzhou, so the adjustment and optimization of industrial structure should be the effective measure to reduce the water environmental load for Guangzhou´s industrial system. With the analysis of the data concerning the industrial economy and environment statistics, this paper makes a systematic research on the status quo of pollutant reduction and its potential of Guangzhou´s industrial structure. It is revealed that the pollutant reduction condition of Guangzhou´s industrial structure has improved continuously during the last decade; and it has reached a more advanced level when compared with other cities within Guangdong province. From the angle of time dimension and spatial dimension, there is a huge potential of pollutant reduction for Guangzhou´s industrial structure.
