Abstract :
This paper introduced the theoretical model of calculating fuel consumption by carbon balance method. According to the problems which lead to examine fuel consumption toughly in automotive multiple-function test station, gasoline vehicle fuel consumption measurement model based on carbon balance method was established. In order to measure the carbon mass in the diluted exhaust gas, a new V-cone flowmeter and a new gas analyzer were designed. The exhaust gas dilution ratio could be adjusted through changing the speed of the electric motor which is regulated by the frequency converter. The experiments showed that the system had a high accuracy, well stabilization and reliability. The system can also be used to diagnose and control the fuel consumption in vehicle, could realize rapidly testing of vehicle fuel consumption at the check line.
