Abstract :
A novel method using pseudo color to extract the vein pattern is proposed. The vein patterns obtained include hand vein, neck vein and arm vein. In our work, a thermal camera is adopted as the input device to capture the thermal images. The results show that vein pattern can be obtained and pseudo color method is an effective method of revealing the veins from the background tissue. The unwanted features on the skin surface will not be seen on the thermal images, thereby reducing the variability of the feature space.
