  • Abstract
    Spectrum analyzers and EMI receivers are both used to make radiated and conducted EMI measurements. In this paper, the hardware architectures of scanning and conventional receivers are compared in consideration of essential EMI receiver specifications and the still controversial fundamental practical considerations such as stepped versus swept frequency measurement, receiver frequency and display resolution, RF overload detection and narrowband and broadband signal discrimination
