Abstract :
An implementation of the MUSIC (multiple signal classification) super-resolution algorithm that employs fast scanning with the fast Fourier transform (FFT) has recently been developed by the author. However, this technique is restricted to element digitised array radar (EDAR) scanning over all azimuth and elevation angles within the field of view (FOV). In this paper an extension of the technique to subarrayed array radar is presented. Fast scanning is considered over a large and a small FOV. A small FOV may be required, for example, to restrict scanning to the subarray main beam region where the array gain is highest and calibration is accurate.
