Abstract :
A highly linear OTA (operational transconductance amplifier) with very wide gm (transconductance gain) adjustment range is presented. It uses linear electronically programmable current mirrors and is appropriate for its implementation in bipolar or CMOS technology. Its bandwidth and input range remain approximately constant with gm adjustment and can be adjusted independently of gm. Experimental results using bipolar transistor arrays are presented which confirm the characteristics of the proposed structure. This structure is believed to overcome some of the practical limitations of the OTA, increasing its versatility as a building block in analog VLSI systems
