Abstract :
The concept of a virtual optical code/wavelength path is introduced within the transport layer of the network. This technique expands the capacity of WDM-based transport networks by employing optical code division multiplexing (OCDM). We establish an analytical model for a static-routing circuit-switched network. We assume the connection arrivals have Poisson distribution and the duration of a connection is exponentially distributed. The main concerns considered in this paper are the blocking probability and the error probability of these networks.
