Abstract :
The “BANKIR” satellite network is a communication and information network integrating the latest Russian technologies for operation of clearing and data processing systems for financial, banking and other commercial operations. In addition to banking communication the “BANKIR” network will provide various types of long distance and regional telecommunications, TV/radio broadcasting, teleconferencing and business communication. The “BANKIR” satellite network is based on “KUPON” series satellites and will include three satellites which could provide coverage of most of the Earth´s surface. The system is designed to serve Russia and CIS, but the spare capacity of the satellites transponders may be utilised anywhere in the serviceable area
