  • Abstract
Present an all-CMOS analog pulse detection system for Winchester disk drive applications. The IC has been designed for the highest possible level of integration with no external passive components and an all-CMOS design without any bipolar transistors, and it operates with data rates from 10 to 32 Mb/s with (1,7) RLL (run-length-limited) encoding on a 5-V 1-μm CMOS technology with double metal, single polysilicon, and a capacitor implant mask. The all-CMOS system is suited to pulse detection in the noisy disk drive environment. The major circuit blocks are described
