Abstract
Traffic grooming in optical networks is attracting so much the attention of many telecom researchers now. Traffic grooming can be considered separately at each individual node basing on only local information (local grooming), or in cooperation between nodes participating in grooming (global grooming). In the second case, nodes must exchange their information about available resources and grooming strategies. However, no one is sure that each node can access a perfect information set of each others. Therefore, global grooming can realize in non-cooperative, or in cooperative but with perfect or imperfect information. In these cases, the reasoning capacity of each node is very important in determining the efficiency of global grooming. In this paper, we deal with the application of game theory in analyzing and reasoning of nodes in global grooming.
